Peak Season & Off Season - Which Season to Choose

The island paradise of Phuket offers poles apart picture during 2 different phases of a single year. The place experiences a peak season & a lean season during 2 different months. The monsoonal months are lean period while from October to March, tourists throng this part of globe. The period between December to January is the peak season amidst the high season. While walking through streets you will forget looking at the sceneries around you as you need to maneuver through crowds of people, cyclists, bikers, stalls etc. You will hardly get a secluded beach. Everywhere you look at, you will find crowds of people only. The cost of accommodation & food are also steeper. At this time the rather secluded beach of Koh Phi Phi also gets over crowded. In contrast if you visit Phuket in the months of July & August (the monsoonal months) you will feel that you have come to a different planet. Phuket will take a diametrically opposite role during this time. Here we shall offer you some reasons for which you should consider visiting the place during the lean season.

  1. You need not have to pre-book your accommodation. You can visit a place whenever you feel & you need not have to worry about the availability of a villa, condo, apartment or a home. Rooms are always available. You can easily rent luxurious Phuket villas that are normally charged higher during the peak season.
  2. You can bargain the cost of accommodation much below the listed prices on internet.
  3. This exclusive bargaining right is only available during lean period.
  4. You need not have to pre-book your train or bus tickets. You can just book your ticket a few hours before the scheduled time & may take tours to any place in and around Phuket.
  5. You will get worthy service in lieu of your money.
  6. The beaches are more secluded & relaxed. Local people also behave in a relaxed manner.
  7. During peak season you may be rejected if you bargain too hard for a taxi-ride but this is not the case at this time.
  8. The cost of food items also get cheaper.
While in the peak season you will get diametrically opposite services that are penned down as follows:

  1. You can be charged a greater accommodation fees sometimes 50 to 100% more.
  2. You need to pre-book your accommodation to avoid coughing up extra bucks or being refused one, leaving you with no options other than spending a night on the beach.
  3. Railay beach around Phuket is amazing during lean season for the privacy it offers. You will not find such seclusion during the peak season.
  4. You will be unable to visit places without pre-booking your bus and train tickets.
  5. Taxi fares become rigid. The drivers know if not you, they will be able to demand steep fares from other commuters.
Less crowd means more relaxing feeling. A peculiar psychology plays in human mind that more crowd diminishes the appeal of scenic beauties & to a some extent it is true. You could not enjoy the beauty of untouched nature during peak season. Only distraction during lean season is rain but if you are lucky you may not have to endure much of the wet season and then you can always carry umbrellas & use waterproof jackets. But to gain something, you need to risk a few.
